Leader
Leader - this is a part of the carp rig that connects the leader to the main line. Typically, leaders are 70-150 cm in length and can be made from various strong materials such as leadcore or special monofilament materials. The leader protects the fish against injuries such as the scales being torn off by the line during the fight and also reduces the risk of the rig being abraded by underwater snags.
