TandemBaits Carp Rods
Carp rods - commonly referred to as "carp sticks," are characterized by specific features and construction. They are usually made from carbon fiber with a specific arrangement of guides and a split handle that facilitates a firm grip during casting.
Length of rods - carp rods are most often made in 3 lengths given in English feet: 10' (3m), 12' (3.6m), and 13' (3.9m). Shorter versions are intended for boat fishing, medium ones are the most common and versatile, while long rods are mainly designed for extremely distant casting.
Flexibility of rods - otherwise known as the test curve, is most often given on a scale of 2-3.5 lb, that is: 2.0; 2.75; 3.0; 3.25, and 3.5 lb. The higher the lb number, the stiffer the rod allowing for casting the setup to a greater distance. The lower the lb number, the more flexible the rod, providing more pleasure during the fight. High-quality rods allow combining both features and achieving excellent casting parameters while maintaining the pleasure of the fight.
The most popular and versatile rods are 12' (3.60m) long with a test curve of 3.0 lb.
