The Gardner Stiff Ultra Skin is a coated braid hooklink material that excels in creating stiff rigs or wherever a proper bait presentation is crucial by ensuring the hooklink lies correctly on the lakebed. The braid features a rigid, abrasion-resistant coating that effectively keeps the bait away from the lead, creating the ideal conditions for effective self-hooking. The coating is made from a specially selected polymer compound, which allows for increased stiffness by briefly steaming it over hot water vapor. The manufacturer recommends using Stiff Ultra Skin on all bottom types that are free of significant contaminants such as twigs or protruding stones, as well as overly soft silt. The braid has a matte finish and is available in colors that enable a 100% blend with any lakebed. A great advantage is that both the color of the coating and the core are almost identical, which camouflages it perfectly against the bottom.
