Gardner Point Doctor Hook Sharpener - Hook Sharpening Tool
A hook sharpener. Frequent snags and a lack of bites are common symptoms of using dull hooks. For a rig to function correctly, a very sharp hook is required. Unfortunately, the bottom of a water body, especially gravel pits, rivers, or old flooded quarries, is not the friendliest place for hook points. Sometimes, after just one cast, the hook may lose its sharpness, and reusing it can lead to unpleasant surprises. The solution is to either replace the hook with a new one or to sharpen the point with a special sharpening tool. If in doubt whether the hook is sharp enough, just a few strokes are sufficient to restore its proper sharpness :)
Tip: If the side surface of the sharpener is worn and does not sharpen properly, it is enough to cut off a few millimeters thick "slice" - you will get a fresh surface that sharpens like new!
