This spring-based mechanism activates upon encountering the right resistance during a bite, setting the hook more firmly into the fish. The Magic Twig is to be attached to the One More Cast Vitabitz Lead Clip or to many market-available clips that use size 8 swivels. The other end of the Magic Twig features a solidly anchored swivel with a QC quick-change connector for attaching the leader. After proper installation, the Magic Twig should be "armed" and then it's advisable to secure the mechanism against accidental "disarming" during casting or when laying the rig from a bait boat by using PVA tape or string. It is also worth noting that the system also aids during the fight with the fish. The internal spring that triggers the hook set, upon disarming, acts as a shock absorber, which by maintaining flexibility, makes it harder for the fish to shake off the hook embedded in its mouth during the fight.
