Okuma Obsidian Carp Reel
The Obsidian Carp Reel represents a new pinnacle of quality offered by Okuma! Utilizing an ultra-light body (housing + rotor) made from C-40X carbon fiber, the reel is surprisingly lightweight despite its larger size. With the addition of a lightweight aluminum spool, an A7075 aluminum shaft, and a light screw-in handle with a crank, it currently stands as one of the lightest big pit carp reels on the market. The reel's brake system uses carbon fiber discs with a small amount of grease, making it significantly more precise and effective at dissipating excess heat during intense fish battles, which enhances its longevity. The reel also comes with an additional aluminum spool and a set of reducers to adjust the spool capacity, useful for when fishing with thin braids or monofilament lines.
