Carp Fishing Shop ROCKWORLD
Why is ROCKWORLD the Carp Angler's Shop?
I invite everyone to familiarize themselves with a brief history of the store's creation.
The Genesis of the ROCKWORLD Carp Angler's Shop
The idea to open a shop with products dedicated to carp anglers came about quite by accident. Rockworld as a company started in 2004 as a side business, which aimed to implement the idea of selling ecological fishing weights made of natural stones. The stone weights seemed very interesting to me for two reasons. First, as a carp angler, I was never indifferent to the fate of the fish inhabiting our waters. From the very beginning of my carp fishing, I tried to impact their natural environment as little as possible. Therefore, replacing lead weights with stone weights seemed like a good move. Secondly - the production of stone weights had a low cost barrier to entry into the market, which was also significant in a situation where the entire salary from a job was only enough to invite a girlfriend to the movies, dinner, a few beers out, commute to work, and two carp fishing sessions :).
A SWOT analysis conducted quickly confirmed that there was a chance of success, and so a quick decision was made - a few documents at the City Hall and the company was born :).
The struggle began to enter the market and to convince the first customers. I teamed up with two wholesalers, with whom I settled "goods for goods". I sold them weights, and they sold me in return the fishing equipment they traded :) In this way, on the site, which was initially supposed to promote and sell stone weights, other fishing products started to appear. Since at that time the only fish within my interests were carp, naturally, I chose carp-related goods in the barter. This is how the Online Carp Shop www.ROCKWORLD.pl was born.
Development of the shop
Since I had been promoted from a runner to a graphic designer at my job, I had the tool and the craft in hand to earn extra money, and every penny earned was spent on the development of the shop. That's when I made my first contacts with English and Czech manufacturers. Hard work began in the challenging market. In the early stages of the store's operation, the quality of courier services left much to be desired, and the prices for these services were astronomically high.
The first brands we started working with were Master Carp, the Czech Chytil, and the English BCUK. The next manufacturers to grace our shelves were Korda, Rod Hutchinson, Solar, Mainline, Delkim, DynamiteBaits, Duncaen and of course Tandem Baits.
The next big step was meeting Libor Chrobok, the then distributor of the Czech brand JetFish, establishing cooperation, and the first deliveries of brands such as Nutrabaits and Fox.
First employee and opening of the brick-and-mortar store
As the assortment of duties was growing rapidly, firstly due to the development of the store, but also as a result of the decision to create a new company in the form of a partnership, which still deals with graphics today, I had to make the decision to hire the first employee. It was a time when all the profit from the store was spent on promoting the store and on the employee's salary, while the money earned in the new partnership helped to expand the assortment. Thus, our assortment was enriched by additional brands such as CCMoore, Gardner, GLT, KArel Nikl, and EnterpriseTackle.
When the warehouse where we ran the online store was bursting at the seams and we were no longer able to function properly, the decision was made to open a brick-and-mortar store. The brick-and-mortar store brought new challenges and experiences with direct customer contact.
Winning the title of Polish Champion and the new online store mechanism
The next important step was the decision to change the store's mechanism to a specialized, dedicated mechanism made especially to our order. This significantly increased the store's service efficiency and, consequently, the possibility of further development.
Undoubtedly, the title of Polish Champion that I managed to win in 2013 also contributed to the further increase in the store's recognizability. I owe the title and the entire highly successful season also to my brother Szczepan, who accompanied me at every competition in this particularly successful competitive season. We participated in three competitions and won first place at each of them, and at two of them, we also caught the biggest fish! There was something to be proud of :).
Relocation of the brick-and-mortar store
After nearly four years of operating the brick-and-mortar store, it was time to change the location. We found a new, larger place with better standards, a better layout of rooms, and bigger parking for customers. We also introduced new brands to the offer, including: CarpOnly, Nash, Prologic, NanoBaits, SBS, Massive Baits Kolibri, Bark, Ehmans, Trakker, Sticky Baits, and FishFood. However, after a few years, this location also became too small for our needs. The decision was made for another change; this time we moved to our own premises. Currently, Rockworld is 500 m2 of brick-and-mortar store and nearly 300 m2 of additional warehouse, as well as a team of over twenty people. You can find us in Racibórz at Mikołaja 9a street.
Our plans and goals for the future
We continue to work intensively on the development of the store, improving the quality of services, and expanding the offer to meet the requirements and expectations of our customers. Without a doubt, the greatest strength and motivation for further action are the positive opinions of our customers and the opportunity to meet new, interesting people just as passionate about carp fishing as we are, who can enjoy carp fishing sessions in the beautiful surroundings of nature.
With carp angling regards,
Łukasz Pawlik
